DIRFloortime
DIRFloortime is a technique used by professionals who support child development including SLPs, OTs, teachers, parents and more. The DIR model stands for Developmental, Individual, and Relationship. It is a play based, child led model for supporting child development that focuses heavily on including parents and coaching them to continue treatment at home and throughout their day.
Each Floortime session is tailored to your child's and your family's unique strengths and challenges. Your provider will help you create a profile to understand and address your own and your child's individual differences. Floortime is an option that differs from ABA, speech, and OT though those providers may use use DIR techniques in their session.
At LEAP we love DIRFloortime and the way it helps families discover their child's unique skills and profile and changes the way families interact for the better. Learn more about DIRFlooritme and the way we use it in the Leap Learning Blog.
